If you’re feeling a little overweight, run down, not sleeping well, not eating well and generally blah, then I’m the guy that can help you. My name is Sean Cox, and my business is helping people to get fit and to keep fit. I’m 32 years old, with a partner, Susie, and my gym is in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. It’s a fitness and wellbeing type of gym, so we take a more holistic approach to your physical state than a standard gym might with weights and circuit work. We do have that, by the way, but it’s just one of the parts that make up the whole.
Susie and I live not too far from Hallam University in a small flat. She has a cat who doesn’t like me, but the feelings are mutual. Susie works as a manager for one of the clothing shops in Orchard Square. She does support what I do with a healthy lifestyle and she also comes to the gym for a workout twice a week. It’s a rather happy life we lead, and I couldn’t be happier.
What Does A Fitness Instructor Do?
As a Fitness Instructor, I take a few classes during the week that have 6 – 10 participants, but I am also qualified to act as a personal trainer. I contract my services out to the gym, and the personal training I do is under my company name. I have three private clients and a small business. I will never be a millionaire unless a superstar hires me but we do okay.
You don’t just become a fitness instructor because you’re fit and muscled and healthy looking. You need some specific qualifications and to study and pass exams. There are a few levels like Group Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer and a Health Coach to name a few. It helps a lot if you’re personable, that is, to have an engaging personality and be able to motivate and inspire people. Everybody wants to get fit and have an athletic looking body instead of being fat and lazy, so we have plenty of work. Retaining you customer is the secret to the business.

What are Your Goals?
I admit it’s a very satisfying line of work not only because you are helping somebody achieve goals. Remember, you are working out with nearly all your clients, so you stay pretty fit from just helping them and without you having to do any specialized gym work. However, I do still do some makeup routines to ensure all parts of my body gets some exercise.
I started this blog to introduce myself and hope that there are some readers out there that would like to share some information. The fitness and health business is always evolving with developments and ideas nearly every day.
